Diary Entry - Details

Unlike other forms of Writing in the curriculum like Letters, Articles, and Debates, Diary Writing is personal and informal in nature and construction. An entry in the Diary can be based on a personal experience, an event, or something else that happened during the day.
Points to remember:
1.     The focus areas should be "Creativity, imagination and expression".
2.    It should be written in first person since this is supposed to be a personal story and one should write as if he/she was really a part of the situation.
3.    You should not write about everyday things and only about matters of some significance should be recorded with important details of the place, time, people, or things that were part of the event.
4.     It is a secret record of one’s life, so one can be very honest about one’s feelings and emotions.
5.    The style and tone is generally informal and personal. However, it depends on the subject. Sometimes the tone can be philosophical and reflective too.
6.     Events mentioned should be in a correct order.
