Notices - Tips and Details

1.    Formal – The tone, style, and language of the Notice should be formal and to the point. Remember to keep the language simple.
2.     Factual – The content should be factual i.e. it should contain only important facts and details in a concise manner.
3.     Be Brief – State everything as briefly as possible and stick to the word limit of 50 words.
4.     Start with creating three lines of a box, the top line and the two lines on the sides. Do not put the bottom line.
5.     Once the three lines are set-up, mention the name and location of the school or organization or office on behalf of which you are writing the Notice.
6.     Then, put the word ‘NOTICE’ below that in Capital Letters.
7.     Give an appropriate heading to it. The heading should be brief and should mention the main purpose clearly.
8.     Mention the date in the format ‘16th July 2016’.
9.    Start off with mentioning name of your department/team/group followed by details of the target-group (people you are targeting).
10.  Mention the purpose of the notice.
11.  Provide all the relevant details like date, venue, time, etc.
12.  Mention name and details of the person to be contacted for extra information. Usually, it would be better to simply write, “Please contact the undersigned for more details.”
13.  At the bottom, put your name, designation, and signature. Remember, you need to put these details as mentioned in the question.
